Hours: 37.5

Rentals Maintenance Support – 37.5 hours per week – £15 per hour 

We are now recruiting for a skilled Maintenance person, to join our team here at Springcare.

What qualities does it take to be a Maintenance Person at Springcare?

  • Being a team player, who can also work on their own initiative.
  • Have good communication skills, both written and spoken, and able to communicate with both residents and colleagues.
  • Be committed to delivering a high standard of work.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of others and mindful of our residents.
  • Proactive, able to prioritise, and a have a positive work ethic.
  • Flexibility, and able to adapt to any ad hoc needs of the home.
  • Be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer and/or handheld device.

About the role:

  • General maintenance of staff houses and private rental properties to include a basic knowledge of plumbing and electrics.
  • Reacting to any jobs/ issues that arise within the properties meaning the job is not the same every day.
  • Painting and freshening up vacated rooms ready for new tenants.
  • Keeping staff accommodation garden areas clean and tidy.
  • Preparing rooms for new arrivals, making sure they are at a good standard.
  • Weekly fire alarm checks and compliance checks of the business.
  • Responsible for ensuring HMO properties are ready and compliant for inspections.
  • Keep up to date with any changes in legislation and the implications this will have on Springcare, making any necessary recommendations.

To be successful in the role of maintenance person, our ideal candidate would:

  • Have good all-round maintenance skills such as joinery, plumbing and painting.
  • Have experience within a similar environment/role.
  • Show a good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
  • Be physically fit and able to lift lighter items of furniture/objects safely.
  • Be able to maintain and use handheld tools safely (following any appropriate training)
  • Be willing to attend any training that will develop their skills and would be relevant to their role.
  • Hold a full driver’s license.

Successful applicants would require two written references, a standard/enhanced DBS (depending on role) and evidence of a right to work in the UK check.
