Springcare are a family run group of Residential and Nursing homes.

We currently have a vacancy for a full time (37.5 hours per week) multi skilled plumber to join our maintenance team. This role will be based from our head office in Whitchurch Shropshire but will involve travelling to different sites.

What does a plumber do?

As a plumber, you would be faced with a variety of tasks, and need to be able to adapt to any emergency situations. Plumbers not only fit and maintain water systems, but they also fit and maintain toilets, baths, showers, sinks, washing machines and dishwashers. The job role of plumber would involve the following duties:

  • Installing hot and cold water, sanitation, and drainage
  • Installing central heating systems and domestic fuel-burning appliances using gas, oil or solid fuel (Note: you would not be required to commission them)
  • Installing new pipework
  • Cutting and joining pipes and fittings
  • Measuring or assessing projects
  • Servicing systems and fixing faults
  • Responding to emergency callouts such as floods or boiler breakdowns

Our ideal candidates would:

  • Have time served experience.
  • Hold a NVQ or equivalent qualification in plumbing and domestic heating.
  • Have dedication and patience.
  • Enjoy solving problems.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work on their own, and work well with others.
  • Be able to use, repair and maintain tools.

The Role:

  • £20.00 per hour.
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 8am until 4pm
  • On call on a rota basis
  • Based from Whitchurch, Shropshire, and travelling to different sites.
  • Company vehicle provided

Successful applicants would require two written references, a standard/enhanced DBS (depending on role) and evidence of a right to work in the UK check.
